Piano Lessons

Instructor background: Sandy Bryan has taught piano for 31 years. She is a member of the Music Teacher's National Association and the Utah
Music Teacher's Association. She is the
Chairman for the Yamaha Clavinova Festival. She owns and operates a piano studio in West Haven, and is excited to teach piano lessons at the HAFB Youth Center.
Class Description: Lessons will include piano instruction, sight reading, ear training,
composing, computer lab, theory, games, and a reward center. Lots of fun!!

piano experience for ages 5-18 years old.

Guitar Lessons
Instructor : Mike Johnson

Instructor background: Mike has been performing, composing, recording and providing instruction since 1978. Taking up formal study at the age of 11, he began forming his own musical groups at age 15, experimenting with his own rock and jazz-rock com-positions. He became a guitar instructor at the age of 18 at the Master Conservatory of Music in St.
Catharines, Ontario, Canada. Simultaneously, he began the study of the classical guitar with Tim Phelan and music harmony with Boris Borgstrom.
Class Description: Lessons incorporate theory, lis-tening and accompaniment. Custom exercises are tailored to each individual student's needs. Advanced students are encouraged to learn to improvise, play with others, challenge themselves and expand their repertoire.

Instructor Background: Don Chesmer is a Member of the United States Judo Inc.,
registered rank of Sandan (3rd Degree
Blackbelt) and certified National Level Coach with USA Judo. USAF Judo Team Member 1987 and 1988. Over 30 years
national and international Judo experience. He has been teaching youth for over 20 years.
Class Description: Judo is a year round Olym-pic grappling sport involving the use of a vari-ety of techniques such as throwing, pinning, choking (13 Yrs & older), and arm locks (17 Yrs & older) to win. Competition available at all levels. Annual membership to USA Judo and uniform are required.

Instructor Background: Gloria Olson is a 7th degree Black-belt, with 23 yrs. experience including Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, Kung Fu, Kenpo and more. She has taught on Hill AFB over 17 years, as well as off base.
Class Description: Combination of soft and hard style, self defense, sparring and weapons.

* GUITAR Learn the 6-string guitar and music theory. Styles include classical, rock, blues, jazz, and country/folk. Every Tuesday, 8-weeks, $68 every 4-weeks, bring your own guitar.

* 15 May, AMERICA'S ARMED FORCES KIDS RUN, 1 Mile, 2 Mile, or 5K, You can register online www.americaskidsrun.org or on race day from
8:00 a.m. to 8:55 a.m., race starts at 9:00 a.m. across the street from the Warrior Fitness Center on the south side of the running tack. FREE
& open to everyone. Participants receive a T-shirt. This event provides 20,000 children an opportunity to participate in a fun run on Air Force, Navy, and Army bases worldwide.
