The Hill AFB FamCamp is within easy walking distance of most of the support agencies on base. The Commissary, BX, Bowling Alley, Post office, theater, mini-mall & service station, Arts & Crafts, Auto hobby shop, Gym, All Ranks Club, Clinic, Swimming pools (2- outdoor and 1-indoor), Tickets & Tours are all located within a 1 ½ of the camp. We also have a Gun club which has Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clay ranges, on the northwest side of the base and an Archery Range on the northeast side in close proximity of the Golf Course.
The FamCamp has a pool table, board and card games, TV, VCR/DVD player, access to several hundred movie videos (free), game nights, movie nights, football parties (in season), pinochle tournaments, BBQ, and much more. Information on the local area, tourist sites, plays and even Square Dance is available from the camp manager. We have also just added a pet exercise area.
Local attractions are: Temple Square, Trolley Square, Kennicott Copper Mine, Hunting, Fishing, Snow Skiing and Snowboarding, Bird Watching, Promontory Point, Lava Hot Springs, Antelope Island, Gambling (Wendover, NV 2-hours; Mesquite, NV 6 hours; and Las Vegas, NV 7 hours), and much more.
For those of you who just want to relax! We have shade trees with benches, and a park next door to the camp with a playground for the kids. Relax, read or watch the various aircraft that often fly in and out of Hill. We have something for everyone.
I have heard over and over from our visitors: “We didn’t know that there was so much to do and see in Utah!” Come to Utah! Come and visit with us. I can promise you that if nothing else, you will leave here with some new friendships. See you in the Future!
